there have been many who have been
persecuted over the years for Christ's sake,
not just in the first century. But we've got a
record in the book of Acts that persecution
did take place in the first century.
In John 15, verse 20, Jesus said, “Remember
the word that I said unto you, The servant is
not greater than his lord.” You'll find that
statement again in chapter 13, verse 16,
where Jesus washes the disciples’ feet.
You'll also find this statement in other
places. In other words, Jesus is saying they
will do the same thing to the servants as
they did to the master. He's saying expect
the same thing. And Jesus also says in the
latter part of verse 20, “if they have kept my
