So there was tremendous persecution.

And throughout church history — the Dark

Ages, the Inquisition and things of that

nature — there have been many times

where thousands upon thousands were

killed. And even today in many countries

around the world Christians are suppressed.

They can't have the good jobs, and others

are in prisons. There are probably at least a

few hundred thousand in North Korea and

other places like that that are in prison for

their faith. So this is why when I ask you to

pray, we pray for missionaries and we also

pray for the persecuted church.

Now, in 1 Peter chapter 4, verses 12

through 14, Peter tells us not to think it
