Strangers and pilgrims on the earth

In Hebrews 11:13 and 1 Peter 2:11,

Christians are referred to as “strangers

and pilgrims on the earth.” In other words,

Christians will not “fit in” with the world’s

philosophies and goals and empty activities

and entertainment, because genuine

Christians have a heaven-bound mindset

and we don’t “settle down” in this world.

True Christians “desire a better country,

that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not

ashamed to be called their God: for he

hath prepared for them a city.” And when

we consider that the Bible refers to Satan

as the god of this world (2 Cor. 4:4), to

spend our time and resources on worldly
