You may be seated.

The book of Ecclesiastes is probably one

of the most misunderstood books in the

Bible, and I'm just going to say up front that

it is a very encouraging book to the

followers of Jesus Christ. It is very positive,

it is very joyful, and it is very hopeful, but it

is very gloomy to the rejecters of Christ.

Now, we just read the first three verses,

and you say, “How are you getting joy and

hope and all these things when it begins

with the word ‘vanity’ five times in verse 2

when it says, ‘Vanity of vanities, saith the

Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity’”?

That word “vanity” is a key word in this
