So I'm simply saying I surrendered and
submitted my will to God’s will. I gave up
my rule, which is self-rule, and I submitted
myself to God's rule. In other words, I
turned myself over to the Lord in the sense
that my life was put into His hands. My
allegiance changed that day, May the 15th,
1972. I was no longer my own Lord and
charting out my own destiny. Jesus Christ
became my Lord; He became my owner;
He's the one who became the substitute for
my salvation; He became my Lord and
Savior. I didn't know a debate existed. I
didn't know the terms, but this is what
happened the day that I came to saving
faith in Jesus Christ. And I did bow the knee
there that day aboard the USS Lexington in
