by any other human effort (See Ephesians
2:8 & 9). Salvation, both physical and
spiritual, “belongeth unto the LORD.”
Psalm 4
In his psalms, David seems to be in a
perpetual state of prayer. Is it any wonder
that David was referred to by God Himself as
“a man after mine own heart” (Acts 13:22)?
Proverbs 15:29 says, “The LORD is far from
the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the
righteous,” and Psalm 66:18 says, “If I regard
iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear
me.” Answered prayer is dependent upon a
right relationship with God, which would
include ongoing confession and forsaking of
sin.
