through  his  fears  and  assaults  by  his


               enemies, God gave him peace and even joy


               in  the  midst  of  both  his  physical  and


               emotional  battles.  David  continually


               acknowledged that God was his “refuge and


               strength, a very present help in trouble” (Ps.

               46:1).






               Although  God  is  longsuffering  and  is  not


               willing  that  any  should  perish  (2  Pet.  3:9),


               there will come a day when God’s Spirit will


               no longer strive with evildoers and they will


               be cut off from God’s mercy (See Gen.6:3).


               Romans 1:28 says that God gave those up to


               a reprobate mind who “did not like to retain


               God  in  their  knowledge.”    In  order  to  be


               saved,  a  person  must  respond  to  the

               drawing  of  God’s  Spirit  through  the


               preaching  and  teaching  of  God’s  Word.
