P. 45

Psalm 5 ends on a triumphant note as David

               anticipates God’s blessings and protection

               in his life.

                                                    Psalm 6

David seems to be very sensitive to sin in his

life as he approaches God in prayer. Although

God had forgiven David’s sin with Bathsheba

(2 Sam. 12:10), David was still suffering the

consequences of those sins as he lived out his

life on earth. David was very much aware of

God’s attitude toward sin and continued to

plead for God’s mercy. But, again, at the end

of the psalm, David is confident that God

heard his prayer and that God would deal

               with his enemies.
