the masses.  But David may have also been


               suffering  some  consequences  for  his  sins.


               Proverbs  16:7  says,  “When  a  man's  ways


               please  the  LORD,  he  maketh  even  his


               enemies to be at peace with him.”



               Sometimes  when  we  experience  adversity


               in  our  lives  it  may  be  difficult  to  discern


               whether  the  difficulty  is  due  to  God’s


               chastisement or because of a trial that God


               has  allowed  in  our  lives  in  order  to  bring


               glory to His name (as in the case of Job).  But


               just as Job knew that his suffering was not


               because of sin in his life, God, like a good


               parent, will let us know if we’re suffering for


               disobedience.  When we’re going through a


               time of suffering, we should pray like David,


               “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try


               me, and know my thoughts: And see if there


               be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the
