should drive a person to the foot of the cross

for God’s mercy and forgiveness. In that

respect, it is a good thing to fear the Lord.

Psalm 9:17 warns that “The wicked shall be

turned into hell, and all the nations that

forget God.”

Also, the calamities and so-called natural

disasters that many countries experience

(including America) can be a blessing in

disguise if they turn men to God in

repentance and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ

for the salvation of their eternal souls.

David is so like us in his “roller-coaster”

relationship with God. After praising God in
