at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the
word; be instant in season, out of season;
reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering

and doctrine. For the time will come” — we’re
there — “For the time will come when they will
not endure sound doctrine; but after their own
lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers,
having itching ears.” Now, notice the next

verse. He said, “And they shall turn away their
ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto
fables.” A fable is the opposite of "Thus saith
the Lord." It is the total opposite of that. So
fables turn people from the faith and distort
the truth.
The Bible says in 1 Timothy 4:7 that we are to
exercise ourselves unto godliness, which is the
total opposite of fables. Titus 2:10 says to adorn
