Second Timothy 3:12 tells us that “all
that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall
suffer persecution,” so according to 2 Timothy
3:12, it can be surmised that a Christian who
is not being persecuted specifically for
Christ-honoring behavior is not living a
godly life. And it should be noted also that
2 Timothy 3:12 does not say that all who
attend church and who are involved in
Christian activities shall suffer persecution.
Involvement in church life and Christian
activities is not a substitute for living a
godly life.
In Matthew 5:10-12 God has promised
Christians a great reward in Heaven for those
