God’s kind of love “suffereth long”
The Oxford dictionary defines the word
“long-suffering” as “Having or showing patience
in spite of troubles, especially those caused by
other people” (oxforddictionaries.com).
Although God has established a general
principle of sowing and reaping (we reap
what we sow, Galatians 6:7), and although
Christians will not necessarily be spared
from devastating illnesses and tragedies,
born-again followers of Christ will have
troubles in this world that are caused
specifically by those who love their sins
and hate righteousness. A born-again child
of God is a new creature in Christ and no
longer loves sin (2 Cor. 5:17), which will
