that I might not sin against thee.” A person

cannot be spiritually born again nor grow in

godliness apart from exposure to God’s

Word, and because God’s incorruptible and

infallible Word is precious to a true

Christian, God’s kind of love for truth will

guard against perversions and erroneous

applications of God’s Word and will

aggressively defend sound doctrine and

repudiate doctrinal error.

Perverting God’s Word has serious

consequences. Galatians 1:6-8 solemnly

warns of God’s curse upon especially those

who teach another gospel, and in the Old

Testament, Jeremiah rebukes the prophet,
