against powers, against the rulers of the

darkness of this world, against spiritual

wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12).

But love for Christ and the indwelling Holy

Spirit will compel and empower a Christian

to endure hardships, persecution, and

tribulation with a focus on faithfulness to

God’s Word and a commitment to God’s

honor and glory.

God’s kind of love “never faileth”

John 13:1 says, “Now before the feast of

the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour

was come that he should depart out of this

world unto the Father, having loved his

own which were in the world, he loved
