didn’t relieve him of his sorrow, he would
“sleep the sleep of death” and his enemies
would gloat because of David’s defeat and
destruction. David seemed to be genuinely
concerned about God’s reputation in the
eyes of his enemies. We as believers in this
church age should also be genuinely
concerned about how we represent Christ.
We should constantly be aware of who we
belong to and our responsibility to glorify
our Heavenly Father in all that we say and
do. Someone once said: “Today there are a
great many people saying, ‘Show us God’. . .
They’re rather skeptical because they
cannot see Him with their two eyes. But if
they could only see Christ in you and me,
they would know Him.”
