served the creature more than the Creator,

who is blessed for ever. Amen.”

To pray for the destruction of our enemies is

considered to be an imprecatory prayer.

               Romans 12:19 says, “Dearly beloved,

avenge not yourselves, but rather give place

unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is

mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.” God is

perfectly able to destroy our enemies

without our intervention. In the New

Testament, God forbids those who belong

to Him to avenge themselves, but vengeance

is different from self-defense and self-

protection, and God was behind many Old

Testament battles with the enemies of His

people and even instructed them to

               aggressively and militantly defend

               themselves.
