circumstance.  David  “reminded”  God  of


               how He saves those who put their trust in


               Him.    Proverbs  16:7  says,  “When  a  man's


               ways please the LORD, he maketh even his


               enemies  to  be  at  peace  with  him,”  and


               although  David  was  referring  to  physical


               “salvation”  in  verse  7,  that  truth  can  also


               apply to spiritual salvation for those who put

               their trust in Christ as their Savior and sin-


               bearer.  Spiritual  salvation  defeats  mankind’s


               greatest enemy, which is spiritual death and


               separation from God for all eternity.




               While  God’s  protection  seemed  to  be


               dependent  upon  the  obedience  of  His


               children in Old Testament times, it’s a fact


               that  since  the  establishment  of  the  New


               Testament  church,  God  has  allowed


               multitudes  of  His  obedient  saints  to  be


               persecuted  and  martyred  for  their  faith
