When I arrived at 09:15 there was only one other rider at Freemans Waterhole and he said he
thought it must be cancelled. I said I had looked on FB but all was good. I went and grabbed a
coffee and came out to see others had arrived so when John arrived and gave us the ride briefing,
we set off on a mixed route to
Jerry’s cafe. Some of the back
roads had pot holes as big as
anti-tank traps covering half the
road. The next challenge was
joining the freeway and mixing
with the big trucks and caravans,
but all of us managed to be on
the inside lane ready to turn off
on the Peats Ridge exit. We had
a good run up to Jerry’s cafe
where many other bikers had
congregated. Some of our boys
knew other bikers and were
catching up with news from
them, with plenty of vintage and
new bikes mixed together, all
worth a look.
Once we had enough to eat and drink, we set off back down the road towards Swansea taking as
many back roads as possible
before getting on the main road
into Swansea and all arriving at the
RSL club together.
On entering the club we found it
very busy, so we made our choices
for lunch with a 45 min wait time.
We had settled down chatting
about the day only to be treated
by buzzers going off after only a 20
minute wait, which was a surprise.
Everyone enjoyed the food before
some were on their way home
until the next time.
Thanks to Rob Baldock who was Tail End Charlie on his trike .....Phil
