The Temple
Nestled into the Iron Range hillside with a stunning panoramic
view of the Coral Sea, ‘The Temple’ was originally built as an
emplacement for a 155mm gun turret, part of the Australian
Military's front-line defence against invading Japanese forces
during WWII.
Nowadays it’s a holiday stay destination catering to all the
modern comforts and conveniences the weary Cape York
traveller could desire. The minute you reach the top of the
driveway and step out you know you’re in a very special place.
Kick back and relax and ‘let the adventure begin’!
The Temple is a popular place to stay, so bookings are required
– there’s no ‘just rocking up’.
Adding to a great stay is the adventure component:
● 1–3-day dirt bike endurance ride
● 3-day dirt bike endurance ride to the Tip
● Blo Carts on Chili Beach
● 1-day fishing charter
