Island ‘In Their Steps’ WWII tour, and curate the Torres Strait
Heritage Museum.

Included is a visit to underground rooms, slit trenches, artillery
pieces, aircraft, artillery sites, and the airstrip, where you’ll get
to walk in the steps of those who served here in WWII.

The groups are kept small to allow a better interaction with
your hosts Liberty and Vanessa, and the narrative is a mix of
archival information and veterans’ stories, providing an overall
picture of what these men and women did for Australia during
WWII.

Visitors are shown the Torres Strait WWII Conservation Project
and archaeological works on the sites. The Torres Strait
Heritage Museum has the largest collection of its kind in the
region and is a mix of WWII history, pearling, myths and
legends of Torres Strait, cultural artwork and artefacts.

Individual packages can also be designed for guests to explore
the Torres Strait, as they also operate small group tours of
Thursday Island and can arrange accommodation, pearl farm
visits, transfers, boating trips, helicopter sightseeing, fishing
and much more in the region, providing personal travel advice
to Torres Strait.
