What Should I Expect?
Probably the most exciting trip you’ve ever experienced. Expect
red dust – lots of it. Corrugations – many. 4WD tracks that will
get your adrenaline rushing if you choose to go off-road, all
while meeting new mates along the way. Expect an adventure
that will make you want to keep coming back again, and again
and again.
Planning?
Of course, you need to plan, particularly when you have limited
time. However, Cape York is not one of those places that lends
itself to a tight itinerary. Most visitors end up staying an extra
night or two in their favourite camping spot.

Do I Need a Map?
Some do it without but it’s not as much fun as being able to see
where you’re headed and where you’ve been. A quality map
specific to Cape York will prove invaluable in the planning and
execution of your adventure. If you’re travelling with children
give them the coordinates and let them be the navigator.

When purchasing one of the map/tracking apps with detailed
Cape York maps and tracking, do ensure it is downloadable, as
for much of your time on the Cape there will be no signal.
