Lakeland
Lakeland is at the junction of the Mulligan Highway and the
Peninsula Development Road (PDR). There you’ll find a roadhouse,
general store with a small café, the Lakeland Hotel/Motel and the
Lakeland Caravan Park.

Split Rock
Split Rock, 12km south of Laura, has some of the oldest and
largest galleries in the world. It’s a self-guided tour with an
honesty system in place and well worth having a look at.
Laura
Laura, a small township beside the PDR, has a small General
Store with fuel, a hotel and a motel across the road. While in
Laura you can take the 27km drive to the Old Laura Homestead
located in the Rinyirru (Lakefield) National Park.
The Annual Laura Races, Rodeo and Camp Draft is held in June
each year, an iconic event that has been running since 1897 -
except for 2020 and 2021.
The Laura Quinkan Dance Festival, a biennial three-day event held
in June/July, celebrates the communities of Cape York with dance,
mime and songs - an unforgettable event.
