ALL SYSTEMS GO – DATE LOCKED IN FOR JOONDALUP FESTIVAL OF MOTORING

Perth’s motoring enthusiasts will want to reserve the weekend of 29-30 October in their calendars for the
inaugural Joondalup Festival of Motoring event.

The two-day free event will transform the Joondalup CBD into a celebration of everything motoring with a
thousand-odd vehicles on display across the weekend and 150 race cars taking part in the 2.5km street
sprint. Family entertainment, art, a wide array of cuisine and local business involvement will also be featured
        in the event’s programme.

Joondalup Mayor Albert Jacob said the City of Joondalup had experience holding and supporting significant
events and is confident the Joondalup Festival of Motoring will become an iconic event.
        Joondalup Mayor Albert Jacob:

“All roads will lead to the Joondalup in October as car lovers and motoring enthusiasts from around Perth
and beyond converge on our City Centre for this unique motorsport event, which will only enhance our City’s
reputation as the ‘events capital’ of the northern metropolitan region,” Mayor Albert Jacob said.
“Even if you are not a motoring fan, there will be plenty of free family-friendly fun and entertainment on offer
over the two days, and we expect the flow-on effect for local businesses to be strong for those that chose to
        capitalise on this event.

“Some of our community members may remember we held a car event in our City Centre shortly after be-
coming a City in our own right in 1998. More than two decades on, we want to re-establish Joondalup’s
historic links to motorsport and give the tens of thousands of attendees an event to remember.
“Come October, car lovers are going to be in heaven and our City centre will literally be buzzing with cars of
all makes, models and eras taking turns around the track and on display.

“Attracting big events to Joondalup is part of the City’s strategy to position Joondalup as a Destination City
that creates new opportunities for our community and attracts visitors with its diverse mix of iconic events
with local, national, and international appeal.”

Each day of the event will feature a different programme and a change in display vehicles.
Saturday’s line-up sees the festival hosting Coffee and Cars show and shine, art, photography activities and
an Autokhana as well as food options and entertainment in Central Park with Cars and Cocktails.
