Well, did you want to have a great ride on
a sunny Autumn Wednesday morning
through the back road of the eastern side
of the Hunter Valley out to Wollombi and
on to Laguna for coffee and cake at the
Trading Post? If the answer is no, then it
is a good thing you did not come with us
on Wednesday because about 16 of us
did.
These roads have been much travelled by
us for a number of years but still are an
enjoyable trip regardless of the rough
surface in places. The roadside forest
delightfully plays dapple light on the roads
to hide the potholes and keep us on our toes as we head down the old convict road to
Peats Ride and on to “The Pie in the Sky” for lunch.
The corners of the Old Pacific Highway are still a good ride; sorry you missed it and what
about the weather, sunny and fantastic, sorry you missed that as well.
I have not yet mentioned the chucky
beef pies, mushrooms, cheese, bacon,
and kidney, not all in the same pie but
still tasting great and covered with flaky
pastry. The day was finished of with us
enjoying some of the tasty pies under
the trees with some good friends and
pleasant intercourse.
Well so much for the ride report and
thanks to everyone for an enjoyable day.
