88 years, and still riding strong
Ray Johnson turned 88 years old in the first week of November. As well as celebra ng with his family, we made it
clear he ‘had to be at brunch’ that Saturday. It wasn’t long before
Mel emerged with 2 sponge cakes that Sue had cooked for him, so
we could celebrate his 88 years with him. Ray responded by saying
how much he valued this branch.
Well done Ray. May there be many more years where you’re s ll
upright and going strong.
Memorial service for Evan
We were legally unable to a1end Evan’s funeral service as we have for other valued
Ulyssians who have ridden on, and/or give him a motorbike escort aLerwards because
of covid restric ons in force at the me.
Instead, a memorial ride followed by a short service and bbq lunch is set for Saturday,
22nd January. The ride will leave from Rotary Park, High Street, Kangaroo Flat at 9am
sharp. Note the me difference from our normal departure me. It will stop at
Dunolly for a cuppa and then return for a short memorial service at our normal shelter
at Lake Weeroona about 12pm.
A barbeque lunch will follow. We were going to make it free but then thought about
what Evan would think of that and decided to make provision for dona ons. Sue Field
will join us for the service and lunch, and we hope you can as well. - Editor
