November’s ride
Weather forecast for 14th of Nov. cloudy with strong chance of rain .... right again.
We leL just aLer 10 am into a shower of rain but Reg
said it wouldn't last long (I think he has connec ons at
the weather bureau) and he was right, as it cleared by
the me we got to Sedgewick. We got a bit of a sciff
when we got to Harcourt for our cuppa where we
spent half an hour fixing the worlds problems, did you
no ce how good it is now ??? . the world that is.
We then pushed on to Maldon , then to Dunolly where
there was a market and an old display of cars and
motorcycles, (I was reprimanded for not stopping but
it was LUNCH TIME). We duly arrived at the Info
centre /cafe in Tarnagulla where Jus ne had her culinary delights for us of which we all enjoyed.
ALer lunch we waited for a small shower to pass before
we made a dash for home which I think all would have
made it about 3 pm.
Thanks to Reg, Robbie, Bob ,Paul and Mel with Michael
as tail gunner for coming and making it a great day
thank you Ron RC (I always wanted le1ers aLer my
name )
Mid-week ride
My bike, like me, has been in hiberna on for the last 8 months or so, so I came along ‘to clear the cobwebs out’ I
believe is the colloquial term. Despite the constant threat of rain, we had 4 riders turn up. Two regular ride club
members - myself and Ron on his red Triumph Thruxton - and 2 other riders, Neil, a local Ulysses member on his
black Honda Fireblade and lastly Rob (Nobby) on a silver Can Am Spider. Nobby was a member from way back and is
looking to rejoin and this was his first club turn up. Ron led the ride over Diamond Hill Rd. to Harcourt with myself tail
-end Charlie and thankfully the rain held off. ALer pulling into the café (NOT the General Store) and failing entry
requirements to the café, we opted for take away refreshments. The Berry Crumble Slice delivers every me. The
group split up aLer that, with myself and Nobby riding back via the highway to catch up with the Thursday lunch mob
at Lake Weeroona.
Depending on perspec ve, Diamond Hill Rd is quite challenging if you don’t know the road, and every rider should be
encouraged to ride at their own pace. Myself, I like to tail along at the end, take the turns confidently and take in the
scenery. The li1le Ninja 250 loses grunt going up hills, so I don’t want to worry about slowing someone down behind
me on a bigger bike, despite assurances that would not happen. Thank you to those who turn up to make these club
rides possible.
