17th August 2022* Destination: Bulahdelah
Our 2nd Wednesday ride for August was to Bulahdelah with morning tea at Dungog.
Riding from Redhead to Hexham the sun was out and there was no sign of rain. Eight bikes, one
scooter and one spyder with eleven riders departed McDonalds Hexham for a pleasant ride up the
highway to Raymond Terrace, through to Seaham, Clarence Town, Brookfield and onto Dungog.
Morning tea was at the Dungog Barrington Bakery.
We rode from Dungog over the hills to Stroud, down to Booral, and onto one of our favourite roads
to Buladelah. It might be one our favourite roads but the condition of it is deteriorating very quickly.
Lunch was at the Plough Inn Hotel. The hotel is in desperate need of a D9 conversion. The food and
the service were average so we won’t be rushing back for a while.
After lunch we made our own way home.

“The joy of riding a motorcycle is
out of this world. The thrill of rid-
ing in the hills and mountains is
an opiatic addiction.” Avijeet Das
“The most important thing is
to have a good relationship
with the bike… you have to
understand what she wants. I
think of a motorcycle as a
woman, and I know that
sounds silly, but it’s true.”
