WEDNESDAY RIDE – 6 October 2021
          Herding Cats

          By Ride Leader Mike Parker
On a beautiful but chilly spring morning 15 of us headed off for our Wednesday jaunt. Sounds sim-
          ple?….But yet?….. let’s retrace our steps.

15 people which delightfully included Anne Marie (Colin’s wife) and their daughter assembled for the ride.
At the anointed time the standard question to the arranged throng was, where to today? Well, now this
simple question turned into what seemed like a fish market. Multiple suggestions with multiple variations
received with varying degrees of excitement or lack thereof. Ultimately a run to MOJO cafe in Mundaring
was agreed upon. The route was to be via the Whoop de Doos. Simple!

BP was the TEC, off we go. Got stuck behind a B Double on Neaves but figured as we had a few bikes and
not wishing to split the group we stayed behind it until Railway Parade. All’s good though it was nippy.

Up through Brigadoon to arrive at O’Brien Road for a right hand turn to take us to Bunning road. Corner
marker in place with indicator. The throng of motorcycles were observed in my mirrors, no need to go slow
I thought, everyone is keeping up.

Turn down Bunning and it seems like the pack has spread out a bit, but not to worry. (Haha, famous last
thoughts). Coming into Sawyers Valley, something was amiss. Just Heggie behind me!
Concerned we parked up the bikes and within a few minutes riders appeared. All good. Nope.

At Mojo it was discovered that we had lost 5 riders. Some how a left turn at O’Brien had happened and not
          right.

After great soul searching coffee and cake was consumed. Now, being a hardy lot the original table was in
the shade (table 19) and, not all being as hardy, a move to a table in the sun was arranged, but coffees etc
had been ordered against 19, no issue. Well after some minutes it was decided that the sun was too warm
so the umbrella was raised! The poor waitress was runoff her feet so our move confused everything. Mul-
tiple extra coffees and even a Muffin was delivered and consumed!!
Ride home was easy, everyone did their own thing!!

There is a moral to this story, I’ll let you work it out.
Thanks BP for TEC and phoning me that there had been a navigation challenge.
