Title : Wonder That
“Wonder” is a book written by RJ Palacio who was
born on the 13th of July, 1963 in New York City.
She grew up in Queens, New York whereas she
now lives in Brooklyn. She attended The High
School of Art & Design in Manhattan and then
majored in illustration at the Parsons School of
Design. She spent her junior year at The American
University in Paris, where she traveled extensively.
Wonder is a brutally powerful story of a 10-year-
old boy named August Pullman, who has a facial
abnormality.
He is an ordinary kid who plays Xbox, is obsessed with Star Wars, but despite
the 27 operations done for his face, he will never look normal. August had
been homeschooled since he was a little kid and he is miraculously smart for
children of his age.
This story starts off with August going to a school called
Beecher Prep for fifth grade. The story brings out all the ups
and downs he faces from the first day of his school until his
graduation.
