generations that preceded ours. .
Thank G-d this generation of ours merited extraordinary wealth and
prosperity in Torah-learning and those who learn it, and so too it
should continue to flourish and increase – with no evil eye.
nowadays without much exertion it is possible to completely fulfill the "ם ָלוֹע" .
mitzvot with great precision and beauty. However, when we penetrate
down to the innermost level of our actions it becomes obvious that ,הָיוּצ ְמ ַחוּר ְבּ ע ַז ְע ַדּ ְזִי אלֹּ ֶשׁ - תוּיּ ִשׁי ִא ָה סוּסּ ִב ְל תי ִמ ְצ ַע ה ָדוֹב ֲע ל ֶשׁ
much to our regret many of our people and the things they do are
insincere and don’t rise above the level of superficiality. Many are .
missing the critical point – that a caring, responsible awareness within
one’s heart in all matters is the basic foundation of the essence of
mussar. Please study carefully the introduction to Ramchal’s “Mesilat
Yesharim” which emphasizes this topic of the complete sincerity of ."
one’s heart as being a prerequisite to the service of Hashem, because
in truth the topic of “mussar” – which is the Torah of the heart and
soul, a person’s innermost feelings – is today at a very low level and is
very substantially lacking.
Nevertheless, there is a large responsive public that goes to listen to
words of mussar and lectures that arouse an awakening of one’s heart,
and there are those who even add introspection and elaborate on these .
topics. Still, the people who devote their time to delving properly into
the teachings of Chazal and the words of mussar are few in number,

into one’s heart. This phenomenon requires explanation; what are
the causes of this decline?! Obviously, we must find the ways and ."
the methods by which we can deal with this problem – meaning,
that people don’t have the proper appreciation for the importance of

to find the methods and ways to enhance their lives through mussar.
