Will the Real Christians Stand Up Will the Real Christians Stand Up
“No, she’s not sure. We’re a team, remember?” Steven
said.
“Oh yeah, that’s right, a team,” he responded.
“What is it with this guy and Christians?” another com-
rade asked.
“I don’t know, but it has to be something.” The team ran
for another hour.
“At ease. Now is there anyone else who would like to
change their minds about being a Christian?”
“Can I change my mind for a second so I can use the
bathroom and then change my mind back?”
“No. Either you’re a Christian, or you’re not, Captain
Smith shouted. “Anyone?” he asked again. No one replied.
“Okay, water up again and get back out there.”
The team refreshed themselves and started to run again.
Exhausted and breathing heavily, Samaria asked, “What did
you mean when you asked could you change your mind to
use the restroom, then changed your mind again?” The entire
team laughed.
“What’s that smell?” one of the team members asked.
“Sorry. I guess I’m an awful smelling Christian now because I
couldn’t hold it any longer.” The entire team laughed intense-
ly.
“At ease,” Drill Sergeant Jackson said. The Captain had
an emergency to attend to. Freshen up, eat chow, and report
back here at 0800.” Sniffing at the air, he asked, “What’s that
smell?”
“Sorry,” the soldier said. The team laughed.
