You, but there will always be an audience for a great communicator with an ability to sell the sizzle.
The presumption that most sales professionals are sleazy and unethical is nonsense. If you are a business owner with this headspace you have a problem, because as you know ultimately that is what you do – SELL!.
As in all professions, a few misguided bad apples give the selling industry a bad name.
We need to remember also that this is a phenomenally large industry. Pretty much everything that has ever been manufactured or service that has ever been provided was preceded by someone facilitating a sale contract.
Selling is not complicated. Of course there are stereotypes. The oft-denigrated used car salesman (Yes they usually were men) for instance, was more often than not an exaggerated myth, born out of some dodgy sales training in the 1970’s.
