Unless you have a product or service monopoly (if so I want to play in that arena!) you will always return to this diminishing return. The more profitable your strategy the more players that will swarm into “your” territory. Of course you only own the marketplace until someone else sets up shop.
You may offer the best product at the best price with a lifetime warrantee, but you are ultimately still limited to the degree and number of prospects that you can eye ball and tell your story.
There’s a new breed of sales trainer on the block. They preach from the pulpit of a new moral high ground. Their message declares war on sleazy manipulative sales tricks.
The assumptive narrative suggests that nice guys have the edge – and by extension most sales people (everyone else) must be some breed of sociopath – lacking in empathy, untrustworthy and not worthy of your patronage!
I don’t buy into this pseudo soft sell – new age, authentic selling philosophy, or indeed the populist mantra that “Cold Calling is dead” Cold calling may be on life support I’ll grant
