Step 1: Load the 1/4" angular brush with Value 3 Leaves & Stems Mix and place them in the darkest areas of the leaves and stems. Load the brush with Value 7 Narcissi Petal Mix (reference Narcissi Petal Mixes) and basecoat the papery part of the stem on the left.
Step 2: Pinch the 1/4" angular brush and load with Value
5 Leaves & Stems Mix; place it in the medium value areas as shown; blend slightly between the values. Load a bit of Value 3 Background Mix onto the brush and place it on the right side of the papery part of the stem.
Step 3: Pinch the 1/4" angular brush, load with Value 6 Leaves & Stems Mix and fill in the remaining areas of the leaves and stems. Pinch the brush again and load it with Value 8 Leaves & Stems Mix; place it within the light Value 6 areas to build up a highlight and blend a bit.
Add a highlight to the papery part of the stem with Value 6 Background Mix. Softly sweep over the stems below the waterline in the bottle with the 6mm Sceptre Gold flat brush to soften slightly; this will make them appear more realistic inside the bottle.

Step 1: Dress the 3/8" angular brush with linseed oil, pinch it with a paper towel and load the brush with Value 2 Glass Mix. Place it in the dark areas indicated in the step and slightly blend it with the 6mm Sceptre Gold flat brush to soften slightly. Pinch the brush, load it with Value 4 Background Mix and place it in the remaining open areas of the water surface.
Step 2: Pinch the 3/8" angular brush, load it with Value 4 Glass Mix and place it around the bottleneck. Pinch the brush and load it with Value 5 Glass Mix; place it within the Value 4 areas. Reload the brush with the Value 5 Glass Mix and add
a light area on the left side of the glass below. Add a lighter area in front of the stems with this same mix. If some of the darkest and lightest values of the leaves and stems have been lost behind the neck of the bottle, reinforce them now using the leaves values.
Step 3: Load the 1/4" angular brush with the Value 8 Glass Mix and build highlights in the bottle neck, waterline and base of the bottle. Build the highlights with the Value 9 Glass Mix.
