College Profile:

V.S.R. Government Degree & P.G. College was established in 1984. This College has
been established in order to cater to the educational needs of the rural students from the
surrounding villages of Movva Mandal. The land of the college has been donated by the Local
Philanthropists. The motto of the College is to focus on the objectives of education to the
students from the rural communities, thereby imparting skills of employability to meet the
job opportunities and to mould themselves as the responsible citizens of India. The College
has been offering 10 UG and 3 PG Programmes.
The College is covered under 2f and 12 B of UGC Act 1956 and getting general
development grants since 1992. At present the College is affiliated to Krishna University,
Machilipatnam.

The Vision of the College

To contribute to the advancement of knowledge through teaching, research,
publications and dissemination and to train students to acquire good communication skills
and leadership qualities so as to mould them to be global citizens.
The College has been offering relevant, need based courses from time to time. The
College went for first accreditation in 2004 and was awarded “B‟ Grade and Second
accreditation in 2011 and was awarded “B‟ Grade with 2.56 CGPA and third accreditation in
2017 and was awarded “A‟ grade with 3.01 CGPA.

BEST COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT
To identify the best Community Service Project at District level,
subject experts meeting was held at VSR GDC Movva, the
Identified college on 2 September 2022. The selection of the best
CSP at college level was based on the following criteria.
1. Purpose and Planning of the project : 15 points
2. Uniqueness of the project : 15 points
3. Social relevance of the project : 20 points
4. Understanding level of the student on the project : 20 points
5. Presentation of the project : 20 points
6. Outcome of the project : 10 points
In this regard, our college received CSP projects from GDC,
Bantumilli, GDC Avanigadda, and GDC Pamarru. Out of those 5
Best CSPs from BA, B.Com (Gen), B.Com (CA), BSc in
Mathematical and Biological streams were selected at the District
Level meeting.
GUEST LECTURES
The Department of Commerce, organized a Guest Lecture and a

Motivational speech on 2 September 2022. The Guest Lecture was on
CSP and Internships. The Guest speaker Sri.P. Murali, Lecturer in
Commerce, GDC Pamarru, explained the importance of Community
Service Projects, information gathering and preparing the report. He
also created awareness among the students on Internships and how
to get linked up with the industries.
In the Motivational Speech, The Resource Person, Dr.S. Jagan
Mohan Rao, Principal, GDC Bantumilli, explained the importance of
Motivation in day to day life He said that Motivation plays a key
role in whether we become successful in life or not. Whether we
reach our goals or not. We cannot achieve much without the
determination to reach our goals no matter how big or small they
are. For students, motivation is essential to be able to catch up with
everyday lessons and learning. Never leave things hanging. Always
