VISIT TO SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY EXHIBITION AT SRM UNIVERSITY
The students of V.S.R. Government Degree and PG
college visited the 88th Annual Meeting of the lndian
Academy of Sciences at SRM University-AP Science &
Technology Exhibition of ISRO & DAE held at SRM
University during 4-6 November 2022. 18 students
from II year M.P.CS, M.E.CS, MPWET were
accompanied by two senior faculty members. The
Students were given insights on various cutting edge
concepts such as rotten fruits as fertilizers, therapies
to cure cancer, Launch of Chandrayan I, Nuclear
reactors etc. Students also enjoyed seeing the
launch of satellites, solar eclipse and lunar eclipse.
The students received participation certificates and
were appreciated by Dr. S. Madhavi, Principal of our
college.

STUDENT INDUCTION PROGRAMME

In accordance with the proceedings of the Commissioner of Collegiate Education issued on 2
November 2022 regarding the conduction of Student Induction Programme (SIP), the IQAC committee
and Academic Coordinator constituted a SIP committee and drafted a schedule for conducting SIP for
the newly admitted first year students from 4 November 2022.

As a part of this, the Department of English conducted student centric activities such as Self
Introduction, A talk on hobbies and Cross word Puzzles on 5 November 2022. All the Students

enthusiastically participated in these activities and gave their feedback at the end.

On 7 November 2022, as a part of SIP, the Department of Telugu, conducted Word Puzzles
and Synonyms to test and enrich the vocabulary among the students. All the students actively
participated in this programme and expressed their love towards their mother tongue.
As a part of SIP the Department of Mathematics and Physics jointly organized a programme

on New Education Policy 2020: Salient Features on 10 October 2022 to all the First year students.
They explained in detail features of that:
The National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020), launched on 29 July 2020, outlines the vision of
India’s new education system.
The focus of New Education Policy (NEP-2020) is on experiential, application-based learning and
research based internship in the stream of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Design, and
Mathematics (STEAM) is explained.
The current 10+2 system to be replaced by a new 5+3+3+4 curricular
structure corresponding to ages 3-8, 8-11, 11-14, and 14-18 years respectively.
Teaching up to at least Grade 5 to be in mother tongue/ regional language. No language will be
imposed on any student.
By 2030, the minimum degree qualification for teaching will be a 4-year integrated B.Ed. degree.
Local communities as well as research internships will improve students’ employability.
Ph.D. students and faculty members are encouraged to undertake high quality outcome-based
research so as to produce Intellectual Property (Patents and Copyrights). .
The students are encouraged for enrolling on the SWAYAM-NPTEL courses from where they can
earn credits from renowned HEIs..
The policy envisages broad-based, multi-disciplinary, holistic Under Graduate Program with
flexible curricula, creative combinations of subjects, integration of vocational education and
multiple entries and exit points with appropriate certification.
