NATIONAL EDUCATION DAY
11th November is celebrated every year as National
Education Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of
India's first Education Minister Maulana Abdul Kalam
Azad. In line with this thought, the Department of
English conducted a written Quiz on the life events of
Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad and Constitution Articles
related to Education. The first, second and third place
winners are awarded prizes.
On the same day the Department of History
conducted Adult Education Programme and distributed
20 Slates & Piece of Chalks to the 20 illiterate aged
persons at ST Colony, Movva, Movva mandal, Krishna Dt,
Andhra Pradesh.
The Aim of the programme is each one teach one and
to curb the thumb impressions. Thumb impressions are
the stigma of the nation. It is a best practice of the Dept
of History.
Capt R. Venkaiah Head, Dept of History interacted
with the illiterates and explained the importance of the
Adult Education and advised them to learn at least to put
their signatures instead of thumb impressions which are
the need of the hour.
In this programme Sri G. Suresh babu, Dept of
Economics, Dr M. Sundara rao, Dept of Political science,
the students from BA, the Ward volunteers K. Rama Devi,
K. Sireesha, participated.Dr S. Madhavi Principal of the
college and Sri Sudha Praveen Mandal parishat
Development Officer appreciated the programme.

college NAAC Coordinator Dr. L.V. Krishna Rao, Lecturer in
Physics, IQAC Coordinator, Dr. J. Kalpana, Lecturer in
English, and IQAC members Dr. N. Krishna Mohan, Lecturer

in Physics, Smt. K. R. Manjula, Lecturer in Chemistry, &
Smt. M. Naga Parameswari, Lecturer in Chemistry visited
P.B. Siddhartha College of Arts & Sciences, Vijayawada on 7
