INTRODUCTION
To gain a better understanding of dynamometer principles and current
dynamometer designs, background research into the topic was required. An investigation
into the previous work on RC dynamometers was conducted through the process of
literature reviews. The dyno is basically divided only 3 main subcategories to ease research,
namely the hardware, the electronics, and the software. The types of remote control cars
were also analyzed to determine the most suitable and convenient type for the dyno unit to
be created based upon.

The principles which are used by different types of dynamometers to determine the
efficient outputs from each and every engines were also determined using the information
from the background research. Remote control car dynamometers are relatively
undeveloped application of measuring devices. This chapter will cover the all literature and
previous studies done on the topic that is being researched to help us understand this project
completely.
