Dyno Tuning
This dyno tuning refers to the dyno designed to tune life size vehicles.
Dyno power run is a term that defines the whole process from when the vehicle is
loaded onto the dyno and a run is completely performed. A run can both check a car’s
instantaneous performance and also its average reading over a time. After the run, a graph
is generated by the software that shows the torque and power of the vehicle, produced
within its RPM range. If the instantaneous reading is needed, the car will only be
accelerated until full throttle, and then stopped. The graph will be analyzed by its gradient
and peak data. On the other hand if the average reading is needed, with the alteration of the
varying load levels, the car could be run until a time limit, while different load levels are
applied on it in between. The average reading would have a graph that shows the car’s
ability to withstand a stimulated race, and how its performance changes throughout the
journey. Other data is also gathered at the same time depending on the vehicle including
air fuel ratio and injector duty cycles. From the data, users will be able to know the car’s
overall level of performance and how it might compare to another vehicle.
There are also dyno runs where a lot of dynamics in the car is changed to see how
and which specification suits the car nest. In between these runs, small changes are made
to the setup and configuration of vehicle according to condition. Runs are performed
between changes to measure the differences that the alterations have made. Dyno tuning
gives vehicle a tune-up of unparalleled quality, providing the smoothest, most economical
performance possible from the vehicle. While running these tests, the engine performance
is monitored by comparing the horse power transmitted to the drive wheels in relation to
the amount of engine vacuum. Simultaneously, Wide-Band Air/Fuel Monitor will be
monitoring the carburetion to check each circuit of the carburetor. These circuits will then
be changed to produce the maximum drivability and efficiency. After these are done, a
detailed test sheet of vehicles Dyno Tune-up specifications will be produced.
