Hardware Material
Due to the fact that this is our first attempt in making a remote control car dyno, it
is still under the phase of a developing prototype that could be upgraded stage by stage.
The first step in fabricating our prototype is to determine the suitable material for the dyno’s
physical structure. The following list explains all the chosen items, and their characteristics.
1. Aluminum T-slots with matte anodized finishing
Specifications:
3030 T-slot – 2 pieces, 320 mm each
3090 T-slot – 2 pieces, 360 mm each
Material Characteristic:
• Water, dirt and corrosion resistant due to matte finishing

• Light density at 2.70 g/cm , extremely good heat dissipation rate
• Allows flexibility through whole length with usage of nuts and bolts
• Does not need specific machining and coating
• Accessories available for joining, finishing purposes
• Standardized size and measurement
• Low market availability due to structure complexity
• Precise shape, negligible tolerance for alignment difference
