CONCEPT

A dynamometer is a piece of equipment designed to measure the output power,

speed, torque and other performance elements from an engine. Dyno tests are commonly
done during the production, tuning and maintenance processes of automobiles and

automobile engines. While full scale dynamometers are a well-researched, documented and

implemented area of study, there has been very little investigation into the area of miniature
scale dynamometers to date. As a miniature remote control dyno mimics the function and

the basic structure of a life size car dyno, we visited a car workshop to understand the
mechanism of a dyno, and to then develop our own dyno.
