The purpose of this project was to design and manufacture a stable, adaptable and
portable remote control car dynamometer that is capable of measuring the power and torque
output of designated remote control cars accurately, with an easy handling and zero mess
characteristic.
With a better understanding, we developed our first sketch, only deciding the basic
physical built of the dyno. Any vehicle undergoing a dyno test will only be tested through
its rear wheels as frontal wheels tend to face less resistant that gives a much higher-than-
supposed-to reading, and in most 2-wheel drive cars are only used for navigation. Through
the Remote Control Club, we obtained a gas-fueled on road 1/8 scale remote control car as
our testing subject. Due to technical and financial restrain, we decided that our dyno should
only be able to support cars sizing from a slot car up to a 1/8 scale. The dyno was built
