Ready Step 8: Double Your Income

I ’ve been doing this income planning thing now for
a decade and a half, and I planned and saved for
myself for many decades before that. So I have some
experience with this, and I have seen things that work and
things that don’t (mostly nearly everything I was doing before
getting into this business). I can tell you, I like working with
things that work a whole lot better.

I like sales. I mean the kind where you save lots of money. Do
you? I like going to a store and purchasing something of value
for less than it would normally cost. I almost always purchase
things like this. I buy plane tickets on discount Internet sites, I
buy beautiful cars used, after someone else has paid for the
depreciation, I purchase my clothing at discount, food, you
name it. My wife is even worse than I am. When she sees
something on sale, she’ll buy it whether she needs it or not! I
could never figure out how paying $100 instead of $120 for
something you would have otherwise not purchased is a $20
savings, but it works for her! And my work allows us to have
enough, so I don’t mind.
