But how do I do this?
By using an instrument designed to use life expectancy as a key
input into its calculations. The actuaries of the world have ways
of figuring this stuff out for large groups of people. Their
calculations are simply tools like any others, and unless you
know how to employ them, you won’t get an optimum result.
They are based on a principle we call “the Law of Large
Numbers.” LOLN maintains that when you pull together large
populations of people, you can make statistical predictions
about things like health, life expectancy, driving behaviors,
danger of fire, etc. It is the basis for all actuarial calculations in
