Lincolnshire, ended here. My cycling round the country lanes
first thing in the mornings on my own, soaking up the early
autumn smells seemed to set the style of my life for a few years
            to come.

               MOVING ON
Once I had been forced to leave the tranquillity of Harrogate
and Grandmother and join Mother and Father in Boston, what
seemed to me like daily bickering and disagreement forced me
out of the house whenever I could find the excuse. Back in
Harrogate, I had spent so long in a house, where everything was
calm and orderly, with one boss, even though we seemed to live
on a shoe string. Income here at Harrogate, supplimented by a
lodger....who also had his own sugar ration!
This had all change to disorganised chaos with both parents
smoking all day, just like chimneys. I had a need to find
somewhere where there was calm and order. Through a friend
                                                     st
at school I eventually decided to join the 1 Boston Sea Scouts in
            1956.
