(The   pub,   similar   to   this   picture,   was   packed   with
            atmosphere in the 1950’s. There were two bars and a dining
            room for meals.)

               Father still had his job with the GPO telephones which was
            just as well and grandmother had consequently moved from
            Harrogate to live in the house in Boston. I think it was the money
            from sale of No.22, the Harrogate house that produced the
            money for the pub expedition.
               Grandma quite quickly began filling her new home at 129
            London   Road   with   lodgers   to   help   supplement   the   family
            income!
               Nigger   the   Labrador   arrived   while   we   were   at   the   pub.
            Father rescued her from the police station at Skegness and she
            became a firm favourite with the regular clients but she hated
            the coalman!
