It had been just midnight as we passed through Stamford;

now at 6am we breakfasted at a roadside cafe just north of
Exeter.

By 9am we were pulling into the Hotel car park at South
Sands, Salcombe and there was a beach and the Salcombe
Harbour just a few yards across the small road, we had arrived
in heaven.
The room and hotel were luxurious and by far the nicest
place we had stayed in since our honeymoon in Porlock just
four years before. But the sea called and to the astonishment of
the other guests and staff we quickly changed into sailing
shorts and set to launching Bamboozle in waters new!
The Hotel specialized in seafood and this was the first time
we had ever had the experience of a sommelier. Each evening
he kindly introduced us to delights of French wines of his
choice to tempt our palettes. The dining room had a large
