Then those self same readings had to tally with pump sales.
The whole then telephoned to “the office” at the same time
each day. Mot was insistent that we kept “the dragon lady”
happy and thereby off our backs!
An added complication to this was that the mechanics
would creep across from the workshop and help themselves to
a gallon or two for washing this and that, then confusion
reigned.
Mot was a man of high principles, exact and accurate
figures were essential.
Herby had a number of long established clients who
trusted his judgement and he sold a steady number of cars new
and second hand. He was also a man of high principals and this
I could respect. A true man of his word, but times were
changing.
THE ACTUAL RELIANT ROBIN EPISODE
It was during my initial weeks learning the ropes at “The
Garage” in Main Ridge that I had my memorable first
experience of a Reliant Robin.
