Drivers Licence
All Employees and temporary staff driving vehicles for AMS Ltd are responsible for
maintaining a valid driving licence for the class of vehicle they operate. The Company
will expect to see your licence before you start driving for the company. You will also be
required to give AMS Ltd permission to let an authorised third party to continually check
your license status. After completing the sign off sheet your details can be accessed for
3 years or until you leave the company. Alternatively you will be required to provide the
Transport Manager a driving licence check code from the gov.uk link here quarterly View
your driving licence information (viewdrivingrecord.service.gov.uk). This check may be
required to be carried out frequently if you have 6 or more points on your license.
Highway Code
Drivers must abide by all Road Traffic legislation and abide with all vehicle and road
speed limitations. Drivers are expected to show care and consideration to the
general public and other road users and abide by the Highway Code (latest
version). Drivers must not, by their actions, expose other company employees,
members of the public or customers to danger.

Vehicle keys
• All keys are located in the
key tracker cabinet next to
the lorry park. You will
need a key removal peg
available via the Transport
Manager to access any
vehicle keys. All keys are
to be returned back to the
key tracker cabinet at the
end of your working shift.
• Spare keys are available from the Transport or Workshop Manager.
• Agency or temporary workers are required to use the same system and will be
allocated a peg.
• If your keys for your truck are not in the peg board but a red peg is displayed
this means that the vehicle is being worked on or VOR. Please contact either
the Workshop or Transport Manager for more information.
Guarding
Vehicles and Plant are fitted with safety guards and rails as per the manufacturer’s
specifications. These guards must not be removed or tampered with at any time. If you
find that any safety equipment is damaged or missing, you must report it immediately to
your manager and do not operate the vehicle or plant until it has been repaired.
